Does macOS have a volume mixer?
No. macOS has one output volume for the whole Mac. OptiSound adds per-app volume from the menu bar.
Can I turn Discord down without turning my music down?
Yes. Every app has its own slider, so Discord, Spotify and your browser each sit at their own level.
Does it need a virtual audio driver?
No. OptiSound routes on CoreAudio directly rather than through a virtual audio driver, so nothing extra is installed and no latency is added.
Can one app play through two devices?
Yes, in sync, without building an aggregate device in Audio MIDI Setup.
